One of the scenic restaurant that's popular among locals. The view, paired up with the scenic view of the restaurant itself it's just heaven!
It's situated somewhere near the jungle area. Don't go during rainy season as the road leading to the restaurant would be muddy and hard to navigate through. Also try to go before dark as the road leading to it is small and dark.
Lots of red lanterns to illuminate your way through.. Somehow feels like you've stumbled across some hidden jungle place.
Rows of small gazebo-like houses are built just over the lake. You can opt for seats near the lakeside for the great view - (often fully occupied during peak season)
Or you can always opt for the seats nearer to the shore. No reservation needed.
Get yourself a nice gazebo for the view or you can buy fish food for 100baht (3 packets). If you're lucky, you could spot the giants underwater.
The catch of this restaurant is the way they deliver the food to you. Food mainly were sent from the kitchen across the lake via speedboat! Imagine how they balance those dishes on the boat!
Here comes the food! These are the few dishes I think worth trying if you happened to dropped by. The taste are exquisite. But be prepared with glasses and more glasses of cold water if you can't handle the spiciness.
Fried crab with their special sauce
Steamed Squid with Lime
Steamed fish with the special thai sauce. You'll be craving for more despite the spiciness. ;)
My all time favourite. Fried 'petai' aka stinky beans.
Seafood Som Tam. Kind of like sweet and sour +spicy salad. The taste are sure to awaken your appetite for food.
Seafood Otak-otak - Seafoods were cooked with coconut water/coconut milk and flesh itself paired with their aroma infusing herbs. Kind of sweet tasting.
Boiled clam were especially good when paired with the green seafood chilli sauce.
The fish were cooked in a special way as in they were fried and later crushed into bits paired with onions, peanuts and herbs and raw mango slices. You'll having different kind of taste and texture bursting in your mouth.
Goong Ob Woon Sen- which translates into Ginger Prawn and Glass Noodles.
It's weird but the first time I tried this, I'm surprised to say at least. It's doesn't really look that catchy at first glance. However the moment I tried this, I fell in love with it immediately! The essence of the prawn and ginger were fully infused with the glass noodle itself.
Well, no worries in picking food from the menu, they have the ones with pictures available. Also some of them could converse in minimal English. To avoid picking out the wrong stuff, what I do is showing the pictures that I usually stores in the hand phone just in case I couldn't find the photo of the dishes in the menu. But basically when ordering dishes, it will be the same few dishes you'll pick (best few popular dishes). So overall they'll catch up quickly to what you want.
Overall 8/10 - Recommended for ambiance and food
